Expect the Best And Get It

Now that you have developed all these positive tools for personal development over the past three blogs, I want you to expect the best and use the what you have learned to get it.This is the last blog to wrap-up the holiday season, and I want you to remember it doesn’t matter how hard things get, they will always get better. Tough times never last, but tough people do. I want you to throw your heart after anything you pursue. Don’t pursue your goals or your dreams casually. Whatever you do, do it with passion during this holiday season and beyond!

What You Want vs. What You Need

Thomas Edison once said, “Waste is worse than loss. The scope of thrift is limitless.” I think that’s a great quote to remember this time of year. During the month of December, most families will go into debt to purchase things they don’t need. Even though I want you to expect the best, please avoid purchasing things you don’t need. I know it’s the season of giving, but you don’t have to go over the top. Remember, it’s the thought that counts!

Remember Those Who Need It Most

My post will largely be read by friends and family in the United States, but I want you to remember people in the third-world countries, too. As we’re celebrating Christmas, some of them will be dying of hunger, suffering from incurable diseases, though some curable if they had the necessary medicine. I want us to be mindful of that. As we expect the best of ourselves, please know some of them don’t even know what that means because their conditions have always been bad.

So, I challenge my readers to please find a reputable organization and send a gift to an orphan who would otherwise go the season without one. The gift doesn’t have to be expensive; it could come from the dollar store; but it’s the gesture that counts. I sure will do that. I think St. Francis of Assisi said it best when he said, “Where there is charity and wisdom, there is neither fear nor ignorance.”Finally, enjoy the end of the year with your family and friends, for those of you that are with your family.

In the meantime, I’m wishing my family in the U.S., my military family in Japan and around the world, and all my friends, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! BE SAFE!!!
